Back on track. Documenting my experience in France with words and photos was the initial reason for creating this blog, and quite honestly, I didn't do the best job at what I hoped to accomplish. But, I wouldn't trade it. When I started out on that journey, I was far more focused on me and faaar more concerned with what others thought of me that what God thought of me. I was all about putting myself on a pedestal, and trying to present "perfect Colette," (ha!) something this blog would have fueled if given the opportunity. But it's NOT about me. It is about the One who created me, the One who loves me, the One who was and is with me, to the end of the age.
It's now been quite a while since my adventures in that dear faraway country, and the love for my Savior and love for taking pictures has only grown. I don't know if I'd call the majority of my messing around behind the camera "photography." That sounds way too professional. I just really love capturing beauty found in ordinary moments, with ordinary people, both made extraordinary by an amazing God. Most of what I do is personal and fun experimentation on my family and friends... and my cats, (que Nacho Libre, "it's for fun.") though, I have had the opportunity to do some photo shoots of late! And I am considering making a better attempt the business side of photography. In light of that, I believe the season has come to revisit this place!
Without further ado, welcome to my field notes!
My hope is not only to share the new, but to dust-off old and treasured adventures I have stored in the crevices of my brain and this hard drive. I so desire to better reflect on and remember God's faithfulness in my life. Past, present, and future, the Father is beautifully orchestrating it all. He is painting a vast picture and weaving together an amazing story with his glory as the focal point. May this be a place of encouragement, for peoples stories to be told, for ordinary things to be made beautiful... May this be a place for God's hand to be seen in it all.
xoxo,
Colette
